rc-help.com Wait, What? Sunglasses? Yup, that’s right. This is a tool I never leave home without. If you ever fly and end up running the aircraft into the sun, you will lose it, quickly. But, let’s say that it’s cloudy, only I still wear glasses as long as it’s not dim. The glasses I wear are polarized, which is very important. When you wear polarized lenses, your aircraft will pop in the sky. It will take the blue sky and darken it, but it will make everything else stand out. To me, this is just as important as training gear. There is nothing worse than crashing a heli or plane because you couldn’t see it against the bright blue sky. And the tint will help if you happen to fly into the sun. So, go to Wal-Mart and pick up a pair of polarized sunglasses.

Aspiring Triathlete looking to protect my eyes from the sun in some sort of styke

I mean, the sun is in my eyes and I don’t want to frown when I run, that just ruins the purpose!

I noticed that at the really important meets some people run with sunglasses, well more of a running type sunglasses. I went to a sport specialist the other day too just to check up on some problems with my ankles, and on the way out he asked me if I wore sunglasses when I run and if not that I should try it.

When are the advantages of running with sunglasses? I’d think maybe it would help you Zero in on your race, and obviously keep the sun out of your eyes… although I never seem to find that to be a problem. Do you think it’s worth it to go an buy a pair?

Thanks!

I have sunglasses which are rather big (bug eye), and I think that apart from possible discomfort, I’ll look funny running with them. However, the sun bothers me- what kind of sunglasses should I be looking for and how do they differ from ‘fashion’ sunglasses? Could you recommend some brand names, that won’t cost me an arm and a leg? Preferably international brand names or ones that I can purchase online.
